Father's Day Gift Ideas

Father's Day is fast approaching (it's the 20th June this year) and so we thought it might be appropriate to highlight some of the more manly items we currently have in stock!

Nothing's more manly than a tankard, and we have a fine range to choose from. Keith Murray's 1930s designs are now considered Art Deco classics and make excellent pieces for display or for everyday use (although I'm not sure whether they are not dishwasher safe):

Fathers with a passion for the 1950s might like a Denby tankard - these hand painted, signed Glyn Colledge-designed pieces still look good and are pleasingly robust and elegant for drinking or display:

Judging from our customers, these iconic rough-textured Troika wares are most popular with men, too. Made between 1963 and 1983 by the Cornish pottery, they still look striking today and fit in well in modern homes:

On the other hand, if your Dad likes a boiled egg (or two) for breakfast, this twin egg cup might be just the thing - it's early Troika and is a more unusual smooth-glazed piece:

Finally, one other pottery we've found is particularly popular with men is Ruskin. This Ruskin stoneware vase certainly packs a manly heft - it's surprisingly heavy to lift and is beautifully-glazed, too:

If your Dad is the kind who likes to choose things for himself, why not head out to an antique and collectors fair and treat him while you're there? The UK's largest fair, Newark IACF, is on at Newark Showground on the 10/11th June and there's sure to be a fair that's local to you in the next few weeks, too.

Whatever your plans for Father's Day, we hope you have a lovely day.

Best wishes,

Perfect Pieces
