Happy New Year - January 2007

Happy New Year to all our readers, and sorry for the slightly late delivery of this newsletter. The end of the festive season often heralds a quiet period, and so it is at the moment.

Rather than focusing on any new stock this month, we thought we'd mention something which has become one of the most popular parts of the website since we introduced it a few months ago - the Pottery Marks Guide.

Featuring detailed photos of more than 200 British pottery marks, the guide came about for much the same reason as the Valuation & Appraisal Service - sheer volume of requests for information on marks.

We realised that as we had photos of the pottery marks of most of the pieces we have sold in the last few years, we could create a sizeable and useful resource on our own site that would satisfy many of the requests we received.

The Pottery Marks section of the website now has more visitors than almost any other section, and the drastic reduction in the number of emails we receive about marks suggests that our plan has been successful.

Although most of the marks pictured are from pottery we have sold, we owe our thanks to those visitors who have sent us photos of pottery marks from their own collections, enabling us to fill in gaps and extending the range of marks on offer.

If you have any pictures of British pottery marks that we don't have (and there are plenty of them!), then we would love to have them to add to our database. Access to all the marks is completely free to everyone - our goal is simply for the site to be as useful as possible.

That's all for this month, we hope to be back with some interesting new pieces next month! As always, if you have any questions or suggestions for us, we would like to hear from you.

Best wishes for the New Year,

Perfect Pieces
