The Martin Brothers pottery was founded in 1873 by the three Martin Brothers - Robert, Walter and Edwin Martin. Their work had strong Gothic Revival influences, and included salt-glazed stoneware and their characteristic grotesque birds and tobacco jars. Later work included miniature vases which were designed by Edwin Martin.

Every Martin Brothers piece is unique, and their work was and remains highly popular with collectors.
