ITEM T176 - Large Troika Pottery Planter / Flower Pot Decorated by Ann Lewis With Collectable Patterns

SOLD Nov 2009

A large Troika pottery planter, sometimes referred to as a flower pot. This piece is from the textured range - so called because of the rough styling of the pieces. It has very interesting and collectable patterns on all sides - on one side it has the stick man design, on another the 'T' design, on another a chequerboard and on another the helmet pattern. It is approximately 5¾" square and stands 5½" tall.

On the base of this Troika vase is the black painted Troika pottery mark, Troika Cornwall England, dating from c1970 onwards and the initials of Troika pottery decorator Ann Lewis. Ann Lewis worked at the pottery from c1966 when it was in St Ives to 1972 when it had moved to Newlyn in Cornwall. Based on this information this Troika vase can be dated c1970-1972.

Condition: Superb overall condition. A stunning and collectable vase decorated with interesting patterns on all four sides.
