ITEM P795 - PenDelfin Dungaree Father Rabbit Designed by Jean Walmsley Heap - Rare PenDelfin Rabbit

SOLD Nov 2013

Rare early PenDelfin Dungaree father rabbit designed by PenDelfin founder Jean Walmsley Heap. The Dungaree father is the first version of the PenDelfin father and he stands with very large ears wearing a pair of dungaree trousers! He was produced by the PenDelfin Studios from c1955 until 1960 - making him one of the very early PenDelfin rabbits. Due to his thin elongated neck and extremely large ears he was very prone to breakage so the next father rabbit model was remodelled with a more stable head and neck. That model is called the PenDelfin Kipper Tie Father.

This version of Dungaree Father is wearing spotted dungarees with red buttons at the back!

On his base this PenDelfin Father rabbit has his green felt and the very early PenDelfin gilt butterfly PenDelfin Studios label that was only in use by the PenDelfin factory from c1956-1960.

Condition: Good overall display condition. His head has been glued on at some point and he has a few paint flakes. A lovely large PenDelfin rabbit, a perfect companion for Thin Neck mother rabbit!
