ITEM P383 - Rare Art Deco Poole Pottery GB Pattern Vase Decorated by Ruth Pavely c1930s

SOLD Feb 2009

This is a lovely art deco patterned Poole Pottery vase decorated in the unusual GB pattern. The G series was originally designed by the well-known Truda Carter. This vase is shape number 442 and stands approximately 6½" tall and 5" in diamter.

On its base it has the Poole England impressed pottery mark, the incised shape number 442, the painted pattern code GB and the artist mark Ruth Pavely used from c1922 to 1937. Incised shape numbers where replaced in 1947 and the salmon pink coloured base was only used from 1934. From this information we can date this Poole vase from c1934 to c1937.

Condition: This vase is in very good overall condition. It does have crazing to the inside as is often the case with vases of this age. A super vase that displays this art deco style pattern very well.
