ITEM P343 - Early Original Rare PenDelfin Dungaree Father Rabbit Designed by Jean Walmsley Heap, 1955-1960

SOLD Oct 2009

An original PenDelfin Dungaree Father, the first father rabbit model produced by PenDelfin. Dunagree Father is one of the very early PenDelfin rabbits and was designed by PenDelfin founder Jean Walmsley Heap in 1955. He was only in production for 5 years as his thin neck and large ears made him a little unstable and prone to breakages. Dungaree Father was therefore retired in 1960 and revised to become the more stable and easy to produce Kipper Tie father rabbit!

This PenDelfin Dungaree father stands approximately 8" tall and has green felt and gilt PenDelfin rectangular label to his base. He is wearing blue dungarees decorated with a black leaf pattern and has blue eyes. He has excellent colouring to both his body and his dunagrees.

Condition: Very good overall condition. He has a few paint flakes (as is quite common) and a small nick to his left under ear. As you will see from the photographs, he really is a lovely example of the PenDelfin Dungaree father rabbit.
