ITEM D83 - Crown Devon Fieldings 1937 Edward VIII Coronation / Abdication Musical Superjug

SOLD May 2006

A rare and imposing 1937 Crown Devon Edward VIII Coronation musical jug. This lion-handled piece is in the Superjug shape, standing 12 inches tall. It is number 43 of a limited edition of 1500, and is made more unusual by additionally being marked with the words Abdicated and the date - not all of these jugs were so marked. The musical movement plays the British national anthem, God Save the King, and is in full working order.

Condition: Good overall condition, with no damage. The musical movement is in full working order and appears to be original. Heavy crazing as is common with these pieces, with a crazed line to the handle.
