A new addition to the Perfect Pieces PenDelfin rabbit section is this superb and rare PenDelfin rabbit Shiner.
Designed by PenDelfin founder Jean Walmsley Heap the PenDelfin Shiner is a beautifully detailed PenDelfin rabbit with the typical style of the early PenDelfin rabbits. He was originally introduced in 1960 and retired from production in 1967.
This is a superb example wearing light blue trousers with a half black eye. He has his PenDelfin Shiner label to his base.

We have just added three new PenDelfin rabbits & one PenDelfin Mouse to our PenDelfin Rabbit section! These include the collectable and adorable PenDelfin Father Mouse and PenDelfin rabbit Shiner! Our PenDelfin Shiner even has the old and desirable PenDelfin rectangular label, a really nice feature.
All of these PenDelfin rabbits – Father Mouse, Shiner, Margot, and the Twins were designed by PenDelfin founder Jean Walmsley Heap and where introduced around the late 1950’s to early 1960’s. Shiner and Father Mouse were only made for a short time and were both retired from production by the late 1960’s so they’re pieces you don’t often come across, especially in nice condition.
Both our new PenDelfin Shiner and PenDelfin Margot have the old rectangular PenDelfin Stonecraft pottery label. This PenDelfin label is believed to only have been used by the pottery form c1958 until 1970.

Recently we added two rather nice early PenDelfin rabbits to our PenDelfin collection – a PenDelfin Shiner and an original PenDelfin Robert with Satchel.
Both Shiner and Robert were designed by the PenDelfin founder Jean Walmsley Heap and are examples of the early PenDelfin rabbits.
Shiner (shown above) was only in production for 7 years from 1960 to 1967. This is a lovely example with his original green felt and early PenDelfin pottery label to his base.
The original Robert with Satchel (illustrated right), also designed by Jean Walmsley Heap, was in production earlier than Shiner in 1956 and he retired in 1967 also. Robert was revised after this in 1967 to became Robert With Lollipop – he is holding a lollipop and a satchel! This version of Robert continued until 1979 when he was retired from production.
Both Shiner, a mischievous character, and Robert a studious looking rabbit, wouldn’t look out of place in the Old Schoolhouse playground!
