Throughout the UK you will find many antique fairs taking place organised by different people, each with their own following.

International Antiques & Collectors Fairs (known as IACF) organise five of the UK’s major antique fairs including the Newark International Antiques & Collectors Fair and now the Swinderby International Antiques & Collectors Fairs.

They organise over 20 events throughout the year taking place at Newark, Shepton Mallet, Swinderby, Ardingly and Detling. These fairs are usually well attended by both UK and overseas buyers and sellers.

This Thursday and Friday, 6th & 7th August 2009, it’s time for one of the largest antiques events in the  UK – the Newark International Antiques & Collectors Fair.

Organised by DMG Antique Fairs this fair takes place at the Newark and Nottinghamshire Showground which is approximately only 2 hours from London. It’s easy to find with plenty of sign posts and being right next to the A1 you can hardly miss it!

The fair opens on Thursday 6th August 2009 at 9am and admission for adults is £20 – this does allow free entry on Friday as well. On Friday the fair opens at 8am and admission for adults is reduced to £5.

With usually a large turn out of stallholders and buyers there’s is often a good mix of items for sale from all types of furniture, pottery, glass, silver to specialist collectables such as post cards and militaria.

See DMG Fair’s website for further details about this antique fair and the other fairs they organise (Ardginly, Shepton Mallet and Detling):
