PenDelfin rabbits are one of our specialities, here at Perfect Pieces. We always offer a wide range of retired rabbits, Family Circle Club rabbits and PenDelfin display stands for sale. A question we’ve been asked in the past quite a few times is – How do you spell PenDelfin?

We see many variations of the name around, here are some examples I’ve spotted recently:

Pen Delfin

PenDelfine

PenDelphin

PenDelfin

PenDolphin

Pen Delphin

So, the question remains which one is correct? Of course if you’re an avid PenDelfin collector you’ll have many rabbits in your home to check and if you’ve read any of the Perfect Pieces pages correctly you’ll know! It is of course PenDelfin.

What started out as a hobby for two ladies – Jean Walmsley Heap and Jeannie Todd, back in 1953 in the shadow of the Pendle “Witch” hill near Burnley in Lancashire has become a popular worldwide collecting interest. Although PenDelfin rabbits are still in production today, the company has been sold off and the rabbits are now made in China – and you can certainly tell the difference! That’s why we focus only on British-made older PenDelfin rabbits, which are just as Jean and Jeannie meant them to be.

If you’re looking to add some music to your PenDelfin collection then see our PenDelfin band below which includes all retired PenDelfin Rabbits!

PenDelfin Bandstand, PenDelfin Rosa, PenDelfin Margot, PenDelfin Bongo, PenDelfin Squeezy & PenDelfin Jingle

To start a band off you need somewhere for your rabbits to practice – so why not take a look at our PenDelfin bandstand? Designed by Jean Walmsley Heap the PenDelfin Bandstand can hold at least 7 rabbits comfortably all ready to start practising their musical instruments. Click here for more pictures and info…

The PenDelfin Rosa rabbit is a lovely singing rabbit – this Rosa is dressed in a pink dress. She was designed by PenDelfin founder Jean Walmsley Heap and only made for a few years by the PenDelfin pottery, from 1982-1984. Click here for more info & pictures…

The PenDelfin Margot rabbit is a very early PenDelfin rabbit designed by Jean Walmsley Heap. PenDelfin Margot dates from 1957-1967 and is a simple little rabbit standing singing with her hands clasped at her front. This example of Margot has an early collectible rectangular label to her base. Click here for more pictures & info…

The PenDelfin Bongo rabbit is a very popular PenDelfin band member. Designed by Jean Walmsley Heap he sits happily banging away on his drum! His suit comes in many colours, we have a blue version and a red version. Click here for more pictures…

The PenDelfin Squeezy is another really early retired PenDelfin rabbit. He was produced by Jean Walmsley Heap and only produced by the PenDelfin Pottery from 1960 – 1970. He stands happily playing his instrument, this example is wearing blue trousers. Click here for more pictures…

Finally, the last PenDelfin rabbit pictured above is the PenDelfin Jingle rabbit. He is a little rabbit designed by Doreen Noel Roberts and stands holding is bell which he is happily ringing. Click here for more Jingle pictures…

This is only a small selection of the PenDelfin rabbits we currently have for sale and of the musical rabbits you can collect for your Bandstand. We currently have mostly retired PenDelfin rabbits, many PenDelfin Family Circle Club rabbits and collectable PenDelfin display stands.

PenDelfin Barney is a little PenDelfin rabbit sobbing away holding his blanket! He was introduced into the PenDelfin rabbit family in 1967 and retired from production in 2007.

The PenDelfin Bath Tub was also introduced in 1967 and features a barrel with water in with a ladybird floating on a sponge. It is often sited next to Barney – somewhere for his blanket to be washed in!

These two PenDelfin pieces have been carefully designed and carry the wonderful characteristics that all the early PenDelfin rabbits do.

PenDelfin collector Alan Buck recently contacted me to ask if he could use some photographs from the Perfect Pieces website for a CD he was creating cataloging the entire PenDefin collection from 1953 to the present day - visit our website for a review of this CD.

PenDelfin collector Alan Buck recently contacted me to ask if he could use some PenDelfin photographs from the Perfect Pieces website for a CD he was creating cataloguing the entire PenDefin collection from 1953 to the present day.

On completion he kindly forwarded us a copy of the finished result – PenDelfin Products 1953 -2010 - so I’d thought I’d let you all know about it.

Alan has managed to catalogue the entire PenDelfin range from 1953 until 2010 and presented it onto a CD. On loading the CD you’re greeted with a directory page split into sections (part pictured below). From here you can navigate through the alphabet looking for pieces or into sections for certain ranges.

Each PenDelfin piece is photographed, has details about its production dates and includes details about any limited editions that were produced. By clicking the images, the user is able to see larger pictures of each piece – one of the advantages of this information being on a CD rather than in a book!

Whilst it might not be quite what you are expecting visually it is an extremely comprehensive and up to date catalogue of the full PenDelfin product range. It’s been a while now since a PenDelfin book has been published so it’s a very useful directory – one I’ve already referred to when researching some of the newer pieces of PenDelfin (click here to view our current selection of PenDelfin rabbits).

Alan is currently selling his CD on eBay, you can find full details by clicking here…

The PenDelfin Pooch dog was designed by Doreen Noel Roberts and produced by the PenDelfin pottery from 1962 until 1987. The PenDelfin Tammy puppy was designed by PenDelfin founder Jean Walmsley Heap and produced by the PenDelfin pottery from 1957 until 1987.

They are two very different characters – Pooch is brown and slimline, crouching down with his patterned blanket! He blends in with the other PenDelfin rabbits so you’d hardly notice he wasn’t a rabbit! The PenDelfin Tammy puppy dog on the hand is very different, standing upright with his white shaggy coat he’s very different all over to the other PenDelfin bunnies!

If you’re a PenDelfin rabbit collector or know someone that is then you should definitely visit the Perfect Pieces PenDelfin rabbit section.

We have everything from PenDelfin display stands, PenDelfin rabbits to PenDelfin club pieces and PenDelfin collectors books.

We mostly specialise in the old retired pieces of PenDelfin, and being a PenDelfin collector myself I’m always on the lookout for interesting pieces so you never know what might appear on our site!

If you’re looking for a PenDelfin book then the PenDelfin Collector’s Handbook written by the well-known PenDelfin expert Stella Ashbrook is a good buy. Covering the history of PenDelfin and including many colour images it’s an interesting read. Click here to view details of this book

The PenDelfin Family Circle has been going since 1992 offering collectors of PenDelfin rabbits a home they could call their own!

Each year the PenDelfin club issues a membership gift – a rabbit especially for members of the club and also a model of the year – another rabbit specially for the Family Circle that members are able to purchase throughout that year of membership.

If you missed out being a member of the club since it started then you should check out our PenDelfin rabbit section as we have a specialist section of PenDelfin Family Circle rabbits.

New additions to this section include the PenDelfin Family Circle Founder member pieces, Herald and Bosun in their original boxes.

The PenDelfin Herald was designed by PenDelfin founder herself Jean Walmsley Heap and Bosun was designed by Doreen Noel Roberts. These were available to PenDelfin club members only in the first year of the club, c1992.
